The charming and comfortable Armadale Restaurant and Hotel is located 14 mile from the Lake District National Park boundary and one mile from the quaint and interesting market town of Ulverston. You are assured of a very warm and friendly welcome. The lovely on-site Restaurant has been awarded the 4 Food Safety Award and has a very varied and reasonably priced menu containing local meats and fish all cooked fresh to order. Booking is advisable as it is popular with locals from the surrounding area. The restaurant is very family friendly and on a Sunday there are 3 local roasts to choose from. Our customers tell us our full English breakfast is 'The Best Ever!' (or you can choose a lighter Continental Breakfast). There are 3 lovely bedrooms, all with garden view and all accessed externally giving you the pleasure of coming and going as you please. One room is ground floor and two are second floor. Two of the rooms can easily accommodate 4 or 5 people so you can be assured of their generous size. We welcome well behaved dogs for a small fee. The Armadale is centrally located just off the A590 and in a beautiful location for either a business or a pleasure stop and is only 8 miles from the foot of Lake Windermere, 10 miles from Coniston and a 15 minute drive from Barrow-in-Furness. Using The Armadale as a base there are endless beautiful scenic locations for walking or enjoying the outdoors as well as many tourist attractions. We will be more than happy to advise you or help you plan a trip and we can even provide a picnic if you like. Lake District destinations and attractions such as Lake Coniston, Bowness, Windermere, Hawkshead, Grizedale Forest, The South Lakes Wild Animal Park, The Buddhist Priory, Haverthwaite Steam Railway, The Motor Museum, The Lakeside Aquarium and Holker Hall are all only a short drive away.
