The Blue Belle Inn Bed & Breakfast is set in the center of the small town of Saint Ansgar, Iowa, located approximately midway between Des Moines and Minneapolis/St. Paul. Fishing, swimming, picnicking and water skiing are available two miles away on the scenic Cedar River, and Halvorson Park, positioned on the river's shores, offers local purveyors renting canoes. The interior of this Queen Anne Victorian, built in 1896, is highlighted by fireplaces, hardwood floors, tin ceilings with ornate moldings and eight foot maple pocket doors. A gleaming maple banister winds to the second floor and opens onto a balcony overlooking maple trees, flowers and a fish pond. Complimentary international breakfasts, consisting of German, English, French Italian, Scandinavian or American Country cuisine, are served daily on lace covered tables on heirloom china.
