Kulab resort is situated against the bank of the Mekong river which forms the border between Laos and Thailand. If traveling west from Nong Kai or Udon Thani, we are approximately 2 hours drive. Along the Mekong, 2 kilometers past ban sangao and 1 kilometer before Pakniam. The next town would be Pak Chom and to follow further will take you through Chiang Khan and on to Loei. <br><br> We have a choice of rooms from grass roofed fan rooms (wall and ceiling fans) to air conditioned rooms two of which are two bed roomed family rooms boasting a double bed and bunk beds. All rooms have tea,coffee making facilities a refrigerator and on suite shower and toilet. All have balconies where you can relax or u can stroll round the beautiful gardens, sit on swinging benches or at tables under roofs to protect you from weather. <br><br> We have several traditional style grass roofed huts that are scattered around the resort, the largest being by the river from where you can order food or have a barbecue there. It is approximately 6 acres of land for which you can stroll around or view the river. <br><br> There is an area of swings and toys for the children and we can arrange supervision if you wish to spend a quiet hour or so in the restaurant (you must not leave the resort even if children are being supervised). Fishing rods and bait can be hired, and with 36 hours notice trips to beautiful local water falls can be arranged. We can help with moped or bicycle hire and arrange trips to Loei's golf courses. Local village crafts can be viewed or let us show you how locals live or enjoy a relaxing trip to a Buddhist temple.If you stay for 7 days or more we can arrange entertainment such as traditional thai dancing. <br><br> All in all this is a family run Resort and the owners and staff would like you to enjoy a taste of real Thailand and its culture. If the sands and sun of phuket are not your style come and taste real Thailand with just a twist of European flavor to keep you comfortable. Kulab's restaurant and bar is probably the only place you can enjoy euro style food (yes burger and fries) for at least fifty kilometer radius, also fresh Mekong fish as available,grilled river fish is very popular, or hire a fishing rod and catch your own we will be pleased to cook it for you. Barbecues are very popular with various meats squid and noodles. All vegetables are fresh from our gardens or local farms. Drinks are very reasonably priced with local beers.
