An impressive Edwardian hotel set in the picturesque town of Montrose, home to the 5th Oldest Golf Course in the world and within walking distance of Montrose Beach, with three miles of golden sand. The hotel itself is situated on the historic Mid Links. It is a former townhouse and a recommended choice for individual guests, visitors, groups & functions. It offers quality and individual bedrooms and above all a warm & friendly atmosphere. Our 2007 refurbishment plan will see another 5 luxury suites and 4 superior rooms added. Restaurant and Coffee House The A'La Carte Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner six days a week and has available an extensive menu which is changed regularly throughout the year; usually in line with the season to make use of local produce and products. In fact, the Executive French Head Chef, Franc Rivault has been with the hotel for over ten years and been awarded One AA Rosette for food quality and service. There is also an informal style “Koffiehuis” for you to relax all day and nurse a cup of coffee, have a lazy lunch or quick snack; the choice is the guests! Bars and entertainment Opposite reception is a small cocktail bar for guests to relax and in the summer enjoy a meal out on the terrace and throughout the year various Folk, Jazz and Classical evenings can be booked to include dinner and entertainment. On Sundays the hotel serves a Carvery lunch and Grill in the evening with special prices for children and senior citizens. The venue is also perfect for any event, whether it be business or pleasure. We also regularly showcase and sponsor local Angus art exhibitions and activities. Breakfast is served from 7:30am until 9:30am during the week and from 8:00am to 10:00am on the weekend. This is served on the ground floor and in the Conservatory each morning. Guests have a choice of cereals, fruits and juices from the buffet and we will take your order for tea/coffee, toast and hot breakfast. The Koffiehuis is open every day except on Sundays, the Koffiehuis opens at 10:00. Guests and visitors are welcome to enjoy a relaxing cup of tea/coffee alone whilst reading the paper or together with friends, family, children or colleagues. Until 17:00 we serve a choice of continental coffees, teas, home-made pastries, croissants and an extensive lunch menu is also available with a choice of freshly made soup, banquettes, paninis, baked potato’s and much more. Lunch and Dinner The A'La Carte Restaurant is available to be booked in advance for formal lunches and dinners and we are happy to create a menu for you if required. The restaurant is open 6 days a week Monday to Saturday from 12noon to 1430 and 1800 to 2100 (2130 on a Saturday). Sundays open for Carvery Lunch from 12noon to 1430 and then for a Mixed Carvery and Grill in the evening from 1800 to 2100. The Links is renowned for its fine dining restaurant where the ambience is elegant and the cuisine exquisite. For the past three years we have been awarded one AA Rosette in recognition of the high standard of food and service. Mr. Franc Rivault, our Executive head chef and his team will delight you with an exciting mix of Scottish and Continental cuisine. The aim is to make full use of local produce and the menu offers an enticing choice of dishes prepared with the same imaginative flair. Guests can linger over lunch or enjoy a leisurely dinner; and the service is exceptionally good; another reason why it is so easy to enjoy a really good time at the Links.
