From South: Approach Midhurst on the A286 from Chichester via Singleton/Cocking. As you come into the town approaches, on a bend, you will see a brown tourist sign for the Spread Eagle Hotel to the right. Take this sign and approach the hotel passing South Pond on your left. The hotel is above this on the left hand side. From West: Approach Midhurst on the A272 from Petersfield/Winchester. You come to a mini-roundabout in the town, go straight across at this point into West Street. Follow this street right to the end, ignoring the fact that you are passing the hotel on the right. Turn right at the junction (One way system) and then indicate right almost immediately the hotel entrance is at the end of the brick wall/hedge. From East: Approach Midhurst on the A272 from Petworth/Billingshurst. You come to a mini-roundabout, go straight across over the Mill Race bridge and carry on up the High Street. Go through the two sets of pedestrian traffic lights and take the next turning left. Follow this road through the old market place and the Spread Eagle is on the right hand side after about 400 yards. The Angel Hotel has occupied the same site for over 450 years. Having recently undergone a major refurbishment, the hotel now offers 15 boutique style bedrooms with every modern convenience, such as flatscreen televisions with over 80 channels and 30 radio stations, CD players, hairdryers, dressing gowns and slippers, irons and boards, room service and of course, all are ensuite. Our new restaurant Bentleys Grill offers the worlds finest Argentinean Steaks alongside a wide range of other locally sourced dishes, including Fish, Pork, Lamb and Vegetarian dishes. Our Saucier has created a fine selection of sauces to suit every dish. The Bentley's Cafe is open all afternoon offering a good range of light meals and snacks and serving the best Barista Coffee in town. Our function suite is called The Courtroom as it was the Midhurst Magistrates Court up until 1910 and the ornate carved wooden fireplace still bears their coat of arms. Seating a maximum of 50 guests seated or 70 for a buffet, it is a beautiful room with high chandeliers. We also accommodate conferences and meetings with full black out facilities and AV equipment seating 60 delegates theatre style or 35 boardroom. The Courtroom is licensed for Civil Ceremonies and is a superb location for weddings, parties, private dining and all manner of celebrations. We have a very attractive 'exclusive use' option for weddings and large parties. We have an external Courtyard for summer dining and drinking.
