Address: St Andrews Lane, Lewes (England), United Kingdom
Pelham House is a 16th Century hotel decorated in contemporary style and situated in the center of the historic town of Lewes in the heart of Sussex-antique shops-art galleries and historic sites are all just a short walk away. Inside the house guests can marvel at the original oak panel carvings of the Paneled Room or at the fantastic ceiling mural by Julian Bell commissioned by the owners of the House. The garden is a town center oasis with its lawn-sculptures and traditional English flower beds. Our rooms have been individually designed to blend the best of modern fittings-contemporary design and comfort whilst preserving many of the original historic features of the building. Pelham House can accommodate up to 60 guests in a range of 31 Twin and Double rooms-all beautifully decorated and some benefiting from marvelous views over our pretty south-facing garden framed by views towards the South Downs. All rooms feature comfortable beds with crisp white linen and are fitted with contemporary handmade oak furniture. We aim to provide our guests with perfect facilities to enjoy their stay and these include remote control TV-phone and high speed data point. All rooms offer an en-suite bath or luxury shower room with a range of natural toiletries. The main house has rooms on the ground-first and second floors-most of which overlook the garden and have views of the South Downs. The newly converted Mews rooms are fresh-comfortable and original-retaining most of the original features of the building. Pelham House is conveniently located only a 2 minute walk from Lewes Train Station-making it convenient for London-Gatwick Airport-Eastbourne-Brighton-Chichester-Goodwood-Brighton and Plumpton Racecourses. Brighton is 10 minutes away and London can be reached in just over 1 hour. In January 2008, Pelham House launched its new bar and restaurant focusing on simple and delicious food, using locally- sourced produce, at a fair price. Our varied and constantly-changing menu is the creation of our head chef Glenn Lester. The restaurant is set in two of the most historic rooms of the house - the Panelled Room and the Garden Room, both dating back to the 16th century, with beautiful views over our gardens onto the South Downs. The Panelled Room contains some remarkable wood carvings which are one of the great treasures of the House. The restaurant is now open to the public every day, from 12 pm for lunches and from 6:30 pm for dinner.

Address: Newick, Lewes (England), United Kingdom
One of the finest traditions to be found in England is that of the country house. Representing a wonderful escape from the bustle of daily life, they have always been places for the lucky few to relax, unwind and catch up with friends. The country house hotel is the modern day interpretation and Newick Park in East Sussex is one of the best. It is one of the few to be privately owned and run so it still feels exactly like a family home; it is elegant and friendly, with huge log fires, fabulous antiques and wonderful staff Their Head Chef Chris Moore heads up a brigade of dedicated chefs who produce the most fabulous food, with much of their fruit and vegetables coming from their own organically run Walled Garden. Game comes from the estate during the winter months and all the food is sourced as locally as possible. They are naturally extremely proud to have been awarded their third AA Rosette for yet another year, making them the only restaurant in East Sussex to hold this accolade, and one of the top 10% in Great Britain and Ireland.
