2. Bennachie Lodge Hotel Inverurie

Bennachie Lodge Hotel was originally a Manse built to accompany Kemnay Church in the late 1700's before it was converted into a hotel in 1971. Since acquiring the hotel in February 2009, the new proprietors Norah and Peter have begun an extensive programme of redesign and refurbishment throughout the hotel to provide the highest levels of excellence and comfort while retaining the hotel's traditional character, charm and appearance. Bennachie Lodge Hotel has eight beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms each offering complimentary wireless broadband connection, flatscreen digital television, mini fridge, hairdryer, Highland Aromatics toiletries and hospitality tray which includes Dean's shortbread fingers. Guests can take advantage of complimentary parking and are welcome to spend time in the hotel's mature, sheltered garden and grounds. If you feel like easing into your visit then you might want to enjoy a quiet drink in the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel's tastefully furnished bar. And if you like to start your day on a full stomach then we highly recommend you request our full Scottish breakfast which we serve in the hotel's breakfast room. Bar lunches and evenings meals are available on a daily basis in our bar and restaurant, with a wide selection of traditional home-cooked meals made from the finest local produce.

3. Pittodrie House Inverurie

Built in the year 1865 and renovated in 2004, this hotel comprises a total of 27 rooms spread over 3 floors of which 25 are double rooms and 2 are suites. The main building consists of a lobby with 24-hour reception and a cosy bar offering over a hundred different types of whiskey. Throughout the house the walls are bedecked with portraits of the family who owns the property. There is also a restaurant and a public Internet terminal. Those arriving by car may take advantage of the car park or garage facilities. Also, there are laundry and room services to round off the hotel's offerings. A 17th Century family house built on 15th century foundations, Pittodrie House is one of the most historic hotels in Scotland, set in a 2400 acre country estate. Pittodrie Estate is steeped in history and you can live amongst country gentry when you stay here. The Erskine family were rewarded for their support of Robert the Bruce with the granting of the Pittodrie Estate. The rooms are adorned with family portraits and antique furnishings. Original family paintings and antiques are found in the reception rooms and bedrooms, and both the drawing room and library feature a log fire. The bedrooms are individually decorated and furnished and have modern facilities. In the dining room at Pittodrie, guests can enjoy a taste of Scotland's finest produce, sourced locally with some ingredients grown in the Georgian walled garden. The wine list covers all major regions of the world and the bar boasts over 150 malt whiskies. The hotel provides clay pigeon shooting, table tennis, billiards, petanque and croquet. A selection of trout, sea trout and salmon fishing is available on the Don, Dee and Deveron. There's also stalking, plus driven, walked-up and rough shooting. Many fine golf courses are nearby. Pony trekking and off road driving are available on the estate.
