The hotel is situated at the crossroads of the many footpaths and cyclepaths to be found in the heart of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The most famous route is the Gabrieelensteig that leads along the cliffs to the Pravcicka Brana, the largest natural rock bridge in Europe. Originally named the 'Grand Hotel Rainwiese', the hotel was constructed in 1892 by Prince Edmund Clary-Aldringen, and today it offers modern amenities while losing nothing of its history and tradition. The hotel’s 23 double rooms and one single room all come with shower/WC, TV and WiFi, and optional extra beds are available for children. As well as these comforts, the bar and restaurant, with their delicious local food and drink and capacious rooms, make the hotel a popular choice for meetings, birthday parties and events of all kinds. During the summer, the hotel also offers excellent value accommodation for students and backpackers in a separate hostel for only 250 Kc (€10) per person in 25 double rooms, with shared toilets and washing facilities, including showers. Among the many facilities are the summertime Grill & Bar Pavilion, a two-lane bowling alley, and, for seminars and corporate events, a meeting room for up to 40 people and a large hall for up to 120 participants. The hotel holds an annual New Year's Eve gala for 100 people.
