The Chimneys Hotel built in 1925, previously known as The Trust and was mostly used by miners who worked at Blackhall Colliery. Now completely refurbished the hotel is very comfortable and a warm welcome awaits all. The Ember Lounge Bar which was named in memory of the local miners who were the hotels loyal customers, it boasts an open coal fire and is decorated tastefully for a relaxing time. There is a welcoming bar and restaurant which is open for lunch and evening meals from 5pm Chimneys is located located in Blackhall near the seafront and just 30 minutes from Newcastle, Sunderland and Middlesbrough. Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel is situated 2.5 miles from both Peterlee and Hartlepool, 5 miles from Seaham and 9 from Durham. Hardwicke Hall Manor Hotel is furnished in a style befitting a traditonal manor house. A classical country house atmosphere has also been lovingly retained throughout the bedrooms that have all been individually designed and furnished with care and attention. All bedrooms are on the first second floor and we do not have a lift. However we do have an appartment on the ground floor, just to the rear of the hotel where parking is available right up to the door. The Hotel is ideally situated between Peterlee and Hartlepool but is also in easy reach of Seaham, Durham, Teesside and Newcastle. The hotel has conferencing facilities. Dining is available in either The Wedgwood Room or the Bistro, both are located at the front of house. We are also an ideal wedding venue. We serve food in our Bistro starting with Afternoon Tea, served between 3.00 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 3.30 4.30 on a Sunday. We also have a 2 course £10.95 early dinner menu Monday to Friday 5.00 to 6.30pm, with full Bistro menu also available.
