About 30 years before Columbus discovered America, the Red Lion Colchester opened its doors and it really is a fine example of Tudor England. It is open for breakfast or a mid morning snack and guests can choose from an a la carte or table d'hote menu. There is also a great historic bar full of period features. Built in 1465 the hotel retains its original design of an old Coaching Inn.
