Situated on the edge of the tiny tranquil village of Bouzies, nestling in a gentle curve of the river Lot, 28 kms(17 miles) to the east of the bustling town of Cahors, the largest town in the Lot Department, and where can be found all the major shopping facilities you could require. Other amenities at Cahors include a theatre, cinemas and a twice weekly market, as well as a good choice of pavement bars and restaurants. Your accommodation is a converted barn which has been tastefully renovated to sleep up to six people comfortably in three bedrooms. Large double doors lead out from the loungedining roomwell equipped kitchen onto a terrace with ample garden furniture including sunbeds and barbecue for alfresco meals. Many interesting sites are within easy reach, eg Rocamadour (Foret de Singes, Rocher des Aigles), Gouffre de Padirac, Grotte de Pech Merle, Chateau de Cenevieres, etc. This part of the Lot Valley is in the Quercy Regional Park and activities and attractions within easy reach include lake and river swimming, fishing, walking, (Grande Rondonnee 36 follows the riverside track near the gite), canoeing, cycling, horseriding, vineyards, medieval villages and chateaux and stunning scenery. St Cirq-lapopie is within 5 kms, officially proclaimed one of the most attractive villages in France.
