Our 4 Lakeland Inn was built in 1872 and is nestled on the south facing slope in Little Langdale -one of Lakeland's unspoilt areas. The Three Shires provides the perfect situation for walking, touring and relaxing. We have ten prettily furnished rooms with stunning fell views. Log fires, traditional Ales, superb food, excellent views and friendly service. In summer the verandahs and window ledges are covered with beautiful hanging baskets and flower boxes. You are guaranteed excellent, friendly service and a warm welcome from the staff, and the Stephenson family who are celebrating 25 years at the Three Shires Inn. There are many walks straight from the door yet we are only 10 minutes from Ambleside and Coniston.

Most rooms have stunning views across Esthwaite water and the fells beyond including the Langdale Pikes, Coniston Old Man and the fells and woodland of Grizedale Forest. This is, and we are biased, the best side of Lake Windermere! There are many walks from the house from easy to slightly more challenging - Moss Eccles Tarn, Wray, Caiffe Heights and Latterbarrow to name a few. It is an ideal location from which to walk or tour the Lake District. Ees Wyke is easily found on the B5285 between Hawkshead and the Windermere ferrySpacious, comfortable, accommodation is provided in eight rooms each equipped to meet the needs of the most demanding modern traveller.
